Stars Foundation

Supporting Indigenous Girls to Succeed

The Stars Foundation helps Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women stay engaged at school, finish Year 12, and move into work or further study. Since starting in 2015, over 90% of Stars students in Year 12 have graduated each year.

The program is built on strong, caring relationships. The Stars Room at school is a safe and welcoming space where students feel supported and encouraged. Full-time Stars Mentors run a variety of activities, including:

  • School and study support
  • Health and wellbeing
  • Arts, music, and drama
  • Cooking, sport, and fitness
  • Culture, community, and volunteering

These activities help build confidence, life skills, and pride in culture.

Stars also provides strong transition support. Before and after graduation, Transitions Managers help students move successfully into jobs, training, or university.

Stars Foundation is all about walking alongside young women—helping them build strong futures.
